1969 Vintage Talking PJ

1969 Vintage Talking PJ, originally uploaded by alington.
Another part of my recent trade: a restored 1969 Talking PJ. I don't have her original shoes, but she actually talks! She is so cute. She's the original Midge sculpt (before PJ used the Steffie sculpt). I just adore her.

I got her in a trade (when I was trying to restore my doll budget and failed miserably--but I did get three amazing new dolls). See more photos of her on my Flickr photo stream.

  2. Thanks!

And yes, I feel really lucky to have been part of this trade. I have been seeing vintage dolls in the collections of a few of the women in our doll club, and I've been liking them more and more each time I see them (the good and bad thing about seeing other collections in real life!). :) I was looking to add some to my collection, but just couldn't justify the cost. Then... this trade! Woo hoo! :)

  3. This PJ was the last barbie doll that I received as a kid from Santa. Thanks for sharing that memory. I wish I still had mine. Just wondering how much did you pay for her.

  4. Thanks for the comment, Sheila. This lovely lady came from a trade I did on a doll board called The Doll Page Show & Sell (http://www.thedollpage.com/ads/index.php), and as I recall, I traded a dressed Tonner Doll, worth about $125, for her.

If you'd like one, I highly recommend contacting Kathie Tilton on her eBay page. She's a vintage Barbie dealer who is friendly and can find anything within your budget, practically. Tell her what you're looking for and your budget, and she can tell you what's available and feasible. (She's in my doll group, and occasionally blogs for me on The Fashion Doll Review, which is where we've moved this site. Kathie's eBay store and her contact info can be found here.
